Moving Averages: Including Trend Lines and Extrapolation

Maths Is Not A Mystery is a GCSE revision course that aims to demystify maths by offering down to earth explanations, common sense links to the real world and a series of practice questions with answers.
We are looking at Moving Averages in this book. A moving average is a combination of mean averages, rolling through time. The purpose of a moving average is to provide a smoother picture of any trends that might appear from the data. It does this by levelling out any obvious high points or low points in individual data.
