This is concise Excel course that will give you all the key ingredients to master how to use Excel and make you become proficient at using Excel to its full potential.
The course starts at a basic level showing you the way around Excel, the ribbon and the different options you have at your disposal. The course then delves into the different functions Excel has, as well as the more advanced level features such as pivot tables, advanced formulas and charts alongside combining all these different functions together to create valuable dashboards and great ways of showcasing and highlighting important information in a clear and concise manner.
The course has a number of sections and will go through the below functions and topics:
1. Introduction - This will highlight the structure of the course and provide the basics needed to progress to more intermediate and advanced level content.
2. Mathematical Functions - This section covers all the key mathematical formulas such as: sum, average, min, max and subtotal.
3. Textual Functions - This section covers all the key textual formulas such as: concatenate, trim, length, upper, lower, proper, left, mid and right.
4. Logical Functions - This section covers all the key logical formulas such as: if, and, or, countif and sumif.
5. Date/time Functions - This section covers the date/time related functions such as: today. now. day. month, year and datedif.
6. Lookup Functions - This section covers key look up formulas such as: vlookup, hlookup, index and match and xlookup.
7. Data Tools - This section covers data tools such as: sorting, filtering, data validating, removing duplicates and text to column importing of data.
8. Formatting data - This section covers how to format tables to highlight data effectively by the use of conditional formatting and other features.
9. Pivot tables - This section goes through how to create and make use of pivot tables to highlight key information to better aid decision making.
10. Charts - This section goes through some of key chart types that are useful for highlighting sales data and other information.
11. Excel shortcuts - This section shows some of the most popular shortcuts you can use in Excel, to avoid using the mouse too much.
The above is not an exhaustive list, and there are many other useful tips and tricks that you will gain from studying this course.
By the end of the course, you will increase in your confidence of using Excel and that will give you the ability to start implementing the knowledge you have learnt in your role as a manager or Finance professional in order to optimise your reports and minimise the manual work done on them.
