Massive is one of the flagships of a new generation of wavetable based synthesizers that make it easier than ever to create room-thumping, brain-bleeding sonic blasts. The problem is there are so manyn choices in how to shape sounds even the most experienced producers find it hard to make the best decisions. We’ve got you covered. Our world-class video tutorials will make you cool and confident as you take simple, powerful steps to build the sounds you hear in your cranium. Each knob, oscillator, control, effect, filter and more is broken down into easy to follow instructions that get you up to speed fast. Rather than months and years of endless trial and error, you’ll be up and running within hours! Your music will be built on a solid foundation, and you’ll be light years ahead of other producers.

Video 1 - The basics
30 Mins long

The first video lays a solid foundation on which the advanced videos are built. You’ll quickly get familiar with Massive’s nerve center—the main layout, controls, modulators, filters and effects. Learn the Browser View, Midi View and the 8 Macro Control knobs. See how the oscillators are positioned to speed up your work, with easy access to the main knobs and pitch display. Get an overview of the Modulation oscillator, the Noise and Feedback sections, Insert Effects area, and the 2 separate filter busses (serial or parallel). You’ll learn how the Master Effects at the end of the signal chain give you tight control over the entire output, the basics of the Stepper step sequencer, the Performer wave curve manipulator, and more.

Video 2 - Routing
25 Mins long

Video 2 goes deep into routing including a closer look at Oscillators, Filters, ENV (ADSR), noise and the feedback modules. One of the reasons Massive is so much fun is the clean, modular set-up makes dragging and dropping of sounds and settings a snap. In the past, many software synths tried to be just like their hardware cousins.

Massive is part of the new generation of software synths that take advantage of computer technology to make sound design quicker and easier. We’ll show you how to use one of the most user-friendly of all synths—you’ll be shaking the ground within minutes of watching this video.

Video 3 - Sound shaping
36 Mins long

In this video you’ll learn to “bend it like Skrillex.” Discover how to shape sounds using filters and altering wave forms. Get the lowdown on filters and how to apply the two kinds of filter busses. You’ll finally get a clear explanation of wavetables and the basics of wave manipulation. Hear how to get sounds as raspy and dirty, or clean and clear, as you want, within seconds.

Video 4 - Sequencing
26 Mins long

You have total control and flexibility. Sculpt rhythmic sounds or long, dreamy pads. Learn how to use the center console LFO’s to create your own wave forms by morphing and blending the speed, global depth control and AD envelopes. Mold your oscillator pitch into melodic sequences with a few clicks of your mouse.

Video 5 - Effects
20 Mins long

Learn to route sends and effects to get the exact sound you want. Find out how to use the output section’s master effects and final EQ. Learn how to recognize the proper application of delays, reverbs, chorus, flangers and phasers. Want to spread the sound into stereo? It’s no problem with the Dimension Expander. Hear how to warm the final track up with one of three tube-emulators, or add even more distortion for some real grit.

Video 6 -Sound design
25 Mins long

Video 6 shows you how to bring it all together to use Massive to rapidly design sounds you never thought possible. Put the final touches on your get-wrenching basses, glittery pads, Thunder-of-the- Gods beats, and glossy textures.

Discover how to create rhythmic sequences, thick kick drums, bouncy breakdowns, sonic leads and delicate synth pads. Learn to use your whole Massive arsenal of wavetable oscillators, multiple effects and filters, and bountiful modulation choices to build huge wall of sounds, dirty breaks or dreamy melodies.
