MM21 Strength, Get Toned
Three well-planned and well-led workouts by Marta Montenegro. They're designed to engage multiple muscle groups while boosting intensity with balance and core routines. For maximum results, each program is uniquely focused on one specific training technique (with a variety of exercises within that technique). The first workout is “tri-sets” — a non-stop sequence of three exercises all targeting the same body part (e.g. Back: lateral pulls, then rows, then a lat pull variation). The second program is lower-body focused; it utilizes at least four exercises per muscle group (“giant sets”). The third workout combines ab-specific movements with compound and rotational exercises. Very clear cuing. Requires 2 to 10 lb. dumbbells.

MM21 Endurance, Burn Fat
Three straight-forward aero/tone interval workouts that start tough and then get tougher. The programs are super-time-efficient; Marta Montenegro packs a lot of intensity in a short period. Each workout uses just eight exercises — classics like squat thrusts, knee lifts, mountain climbers and pushups. The first circuit is “base level.” The second boosts the challenge with faster moves, bigger hops or a larger range of motion. The final circuit truly maximizes the intensity; it includes pulses, reverse moves and plyo-jumps ("by now, your heart is sure to be pumpin’"). One exerciser shows easier modifications. Basic, no-nonsense cuing.

MM10 Power, Accelerate Your Metabolism
This DVD includes 4 high-intensity, 10-minute full-body strength and cardio workouts designed to increase your endurance, agility, and build your strength, setting your body up to keep burning calories after your workout. How does the Montenegro Method work to accelerate fat burning?
The secret to the Montenegro Method is in the post-workout metabolic response that tells the body to keep burning calories after your workout.
When you build lean muscle, you create more mitochondria in your body. The more mitochondria we have, the easier it is to lose weight because over time, more calories will be burned by these cells. The average person, through proper strength training and a sensible diet can add enough muscle to burn an additional 3,500 calories (1 pound) per week.

Personal History: When I was 18, I lost my father. At the time, exercise acted as an outlet for me to deal with my emotions and relieve stress. I became certified as a fitness trainer and strength and conditioning coach. Then I opened my own gym in Venezuela and began fusing dietary guidelines, health and fitness to design customized wellness plans for patients with special medical needs.
