Understand the key players and the key sectors of the oil and gas industry.
Understand the key terminologies that are used to describe operations in the oil and gas industry.
Identify and describe the equipment that are commonly deployed on oil and gas civil construction projects.
Understand all the different civil engineering works that are executed to support oil and gas exploration, exploitation, transportation, and refining.
Requirements
Passion for learning about, or working on, civil construction works within the oil and gas industry.
Description
This course is designed for learners who want to broaden their knowledge about the services that civil engineering professionals provide to the oil and gas industry.Civil engineering professionals with a keen interest in the oil and gas industry often do not have much information or knowledge about how or where they fit into the industry. While information is abundant on the internet, it is hardly in the required format and takes hours to assemble, for those who try. In response to this challenge, I have developed this course primarily for students with a civil engineering background who want to gain a better understanding of the services that civil engineering professionals provide to the petroleum industry. The course will assist interested students to upgrade their knowledge about the industry, prepare for a rewarding career in oil and gas and serve as good reference material for those already in the industry. The course will also benefit construction professionals who are already working in the oil and gas industry, construction professionals in other sectors of the economy, who want to work in the oil and gas industry, consultants, contractors, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) professionals, Project Managers, Project Controls professionals, Oil and Gas construction workers (pipe-fitters, welders, equipment operators, millwright, construction trades helpers and labourers), Energy industry journalists, and reporters.
