This course is aimed at those interested in learning about careers within the UK Pharmaceutical Industry, with a specific focus on function and role of the Medical Affairs department.It is intended to cover the main topics identified as either critical to the understanding of the Medical Affairs function, and/or where learning resources can be otherwise difficult to obtain.This course will take you through or help with:Identifying and aligning with certain departments/roles within the IndustryBuilding and developing your understanding of the Medical Affairs FunctionThe key aspects to Drug Life Cycle Management and its relevance to the major departmentsAn introduction to the way in which drugs are regulated and legally classifiedThe concepts behind Promotion activity for prescription only medicinesThe key promotional tools, activities and tactics utilised by the commercial teams of most companiesThe way in which the UK Pharmaceutical is self-regulated via the ABPI code and the PMCPAKey non-promotional activities, their importance Medical Affairs and the relevance to the ABPI codeUnderstanding the basics of Heath Economics, Health Technology Appraisals with NICE, and agreed access arrangements with the NHSSome modules (such as Health Economics) are written to bring all candidates to the same level of understanding irrespective of background and experience.
