Description

This course teaches you about the anatomy of childbirth education and how your baby plays an active role in the birth process. What sets this course apart from others is the mindfulness components I weave into the curriculum.  With these mindful practices, you will help prepare your mind, body, and spirit for childbirth. The first section of the course covers birth plan writing. It is important to be educated on all of the potential interventions you will be offered throughout labor and which ones align with your values. It is also important to understand how to communicate with your providers. Birth plan writing is more than what happens during actual labor. It also discusses how you wish to have the delivery of your placenta managed, and the preferences you will be offered for newborn care in your immediate postpartum recovery time.In this course, you will learn how to move and breathe through each stage of labor, affirmations to positively influence your thoughts, coping skills to help you as the sensations grow in intensity, and how to regulate your central nervous system. You will also learn partner-assisted movements and ways to mindfully prepare for the pushing, or releasing phase of your baby's birth. You and your partner will feel empowered and ready to rock with all the tools to navigate your labor experience with confidence. You can begin this course around 34 weeks of pregnancy and revisit the lessons as you approach your due date to refresh your memories.
