CCENT Overview The Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) is the first certification in the Cisco certification path. It covers a broad array of general networking theory which closely mirrors the CompTIA Network+. However, where CompTIA strives to be vendor neutral, Cisco takes a look at the topics from their point of view. The CCENT also covers the configuration and operation of Cisco switches and routers in a small office / home office environment. This means that the learner will get their first introduction to the Cisco Command Line Environment and learn how to get the devices out of the box and running on the network.
