The book aims to promote day care or ambulatory healthcare with regards to possible medical and surgical procedures that would otherwise have required hospitalisation but can now be safely performed in day care with admission times less than 24 hours. This would promote quicker turnaround time for institutions and lead to more efficiency in bed utilization.
