Ninja Manipulation: The Five Emotions and Desires

Despite the popular image of the ninja as a black- clad commando, their primary job was gathering information. While stealth might be the only way they could get what they needed, it was often much better to recruit agents from among the enemy to pass along the information they were after.
Social skills and ways of manipulating people to work for the ninja was a vital skill. Much was written about ways of subverting people to the will of the ninja. One of the key points was the use of the five emotions that drive us the most, and the five desires that have the strongest pull on the human soul.
This work is largely based on Japanese sources. But it uses example from all throughout history as well as research that helps make the case far better than the crude texts from history. The art of the ninja has been backed by the modern science of personal interaction and persuasion.
