The Most Holy Trinosophy (La Très Sainte Trinosophie) is a manuscript in the French Library at Troyes. The manuscript consists of ninety-six pages written on one side only. The style is cultured and many pages have illustrations colored with great care and beauty, full of secret symbolism. The title of this manuscript speaks to us of a Triple Wisdom (Trinosophy = Threefold Wisdom), that is to say, of a knowledge of reality, based on one or several triplicities. The experiences described in the text refer to the trials that every disciple aspiring to Initiation must endure and pass through, trials that strengthen and enable the disciple to act in higher, wider and subtler fields of activity.
The Most Holy Trinosophy was written by the Count of Saint Germain while he was imprisoned in the dungeons of the Inquisition in Rome. The book is addressed to a friend of Saint Germain, called Philochatus.
The twelve steps of the initiation described in the twelve sections of the book are related to the twelve tribes of Israel, the twelve planets, the twelve principal gods of Greek Mythology, the twelve apostles of Christ and the twelve precious stones described in the Apocalypse as the foundations of the Celestial City.
In order to understand this book it is necessary to take into account both its text and its images. The profound symbolism that it offers only can be unveiled by those willing to study it in depth.
