Review
Despite its compact format, this book effectively covers the full spectrum of facial plastic surgery. Section 1 addresses basic concepts in facial surgery from instrumentation and suture material to facial analysis and principles of photography. The next 9 clinical sections cover the breadth of facial plastic surgery from facial nerve dysfunction and rehabilitation to pediatric facial plastic surgery. Each chapter addresses a specific, focused component of the overarching section, highlighting important topics with bolded texts and well-organized tables. In addition, each chapter contains excellent original illustrations of pertinent anatomy and surgical concepts. While illustrations are sparse as a function of the book's concision, they are used thoughtfully and effectively throughout and complement the text well. The combination of well-organized text, carefully constructed tables, and custom illustrations create an excellent review of the major topics within the specialty of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery from cosmetic rhinoplasty to major oncologic reconstruction. . . . Dr. Desai produced a well-organized, thorough review text that will be a great resource for physicians at all levels of training. He brought together a diverse group of leaders in their respective fields to create a review text that effectively covers the range of facial plastic surgery. This will be a trusted reference and is an excellent addition to the catalog of respected facial plastic and reconstructive surgery texts. –Gregory Kelts, MD, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, May 2017

This book is an excellent pocket guide encompassing a wide range of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. It is formatted in a very similar way to the well-known Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery by Pasha.

The book is organised into major sections of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, encompassing reconstructive, cosmetic and craniofacial areas. Each chapter, which is co-written by a senior and junior author, provides concise and comprehensive information in an easy-to-read manner. The rhinoplasty, otoplasty, facial defect reconstruction and skin cancer sections are an excellent resource material in terms of succinct and concise information for trainees, particularly those preparing for the FRCS(ORL-HNS) exam and also the European Board Exam in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

This book is an excellent reference pocket guide for trainees and, indeed, established specialists. I have not come across a similar book for facial plastic surgery, which makes it stand out in the market. It is also an excellent revision resource for exams. In summary, this clinical reference guide is an excellent, up-to-date and good value book which I would highly recommend to anyone interested in facial and reconstructive surgery. –Aftab Ahmed, Consultant ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon, Doncaster Royal Infirmary, UK in ENT and Audiology News Sept/Oct 2017
