Political Populism in the Twenty-First Century

At the end of the Cold War, which was ushered in by the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the West celebrated the end of historythe endpoint of mankinds ideological evolutiononly to find itself caught in internal conflicts of political populism. This book focuses on so-called right wing populist movements and parties in democratic politiesthose in Russia, Central and Western Europe, and the United States. Central to the definition and dynamics of populism are its anti-globalism and anti-elitism, the latter a reaction against the elites arrogance and dismissive contempt.
