Neurotechnology, security and the future of humanity
In an era of accelerating development of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), the human brain is no longer a bastion of privacy. What was once the realm of science fiction—controlling computers with thoughts, implants that record emotions, or applications that analyze stress levels—has become reality. Unfortunately, alongside the benefits, real threats have emerged: ultrasonic attacks, EEG signal interception, neurodata hacking, and the manipulation of user emotions.
The goal of this book is to combine knowledge from neuroscience, engineering, and cybersecurity to enable students, researchers, and professionals to:
Understanding how BCI interfaces work – both external (e.g., EEG headbands) and implantable;
Using tools such as OpenBCI, BLE, nRF52 or Brain Flow in practical projects;
Conscious countermeasures against acoustic, surveillance and manipulation attacks using AI.
The book includes numerous examples, exercises, and tutorials for self-implementation, including integration with Python, Flutter, Arduino, and the use of AI models to detect and defend against cyberattacks.
