When I saw that two of my favorite authors had teamed up on a post-apocalyptic book, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It is completely different from anything I have read by either of them before. The story takes place about 300 years after the human race has been nearly wiped out. It tells the story of a group of people, descendants of original survivors, who struggle to exist in a small community surrounded by high walls. These walls protect them from the bloodthirsty disfigured creatures, once human, who inhabit the world outside. But the threat posed by their fellow survivors inside the wall may be even greater than that posed by the creatures on the other side. Especially if you are female. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what happens next.
