Ultimatum: Requiem Compilation

is a cross-title epilogue--and funeral services for the fallen protagonists--in the 3 main titles involved in the storyline, the multi-title, multi-issue cataclysmic crossover that took place in Marvel Comics' imprint. Ultimate Marvel featured re-imagined and updated versions of the company's most popular superhero characters, particularly Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. The characters have new origins, freeing them from the sometimes convoluted back-histories of the original versions which were thought to turn off new readers unfamiliar with their extensive histories. Aside from being epilogues/funeral services to the aforementioned individual comic book titles following the conclusion of the Ultimatum Event (seen in ), Requiem titles serve as transition stories to the relaunching of the entire Ultimate marvel imprint under a new "Ultimate Comics" brand. The four issues herein compiled will be collected and published as a hardcover Premiere (TPB) by Marvel on September 30, 2009 (October 8, 2009 cover date).
