The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft is a four-part comic book fictionalization of the life and times of H.P. Lovecraft (just Google him up, Dudes) by Image Comics. It blends a touch of reality with fantastical fiction, and puts the iconic author himself as the main character living in a world of nightmare. The story centers on Lovecraft and his encounter with an ancient book of unspeakable lore (can you guess the book's name? I bet you can!) which passes unto him a terrible curse. The introverted author suddenly becomes a great force of unwitting destruction and is also the only one capable of battling the forces that he unleashes to the world.
Innocents are dying gruesome deaths. The police are closing in fast. And H.P. Lovecraft has forever lost the faith of the woman he adores. Is all hope lost? That’s how it looks to our poor, young writer who now believes his nightmares are coming true, springing from his head into the real world – with deadly results! Afraid he might be unleashing hell on earth, Lovecraft fights against sleep with all his might. But it’s a battle he can’t win. So he turns to the only person he believes he can trust. Is it a mistake? And will Lovecraft solve the mystery of his curse before his nightmares kill again? Story by Marc Carter; Art by Tony Salmons; Cover by Adam Byrne --
