+ Spin Angels Issues #1-2
is the latest book to be published by Marvel Comics state-side through their partnership with Soleil. Each issue in the mini-series, like the other Soleil/Marvel offerings, is a super-sized 48 pages in length. This book is charged with political intrigue, conspiracy theories and black-op assignments all with the backdrop of the Catholic Church a la Da Vinci Code. The protagonists of the book are a group of investigators that work for the Black Office of the Vatican. Action-packed, complete with great set-up and interesting goings-on. The pacing and suspense level are pretty much top-notch thanks to the clear pencils of Chan, with his lush detailed environments and clear manga influence. Spin Angels is another example of high-quality genre work turned out by European creators. It is fortunate Marvel has this partnership with Soleil and is publishing it in English in four parts, not three as previously solicited.
THE INQUISITION, ONE OF THE MOST UNFATHOMABLE MACHINATIONS OF OPPRESSION IN HISTORY, IS BACK IN THIS EXPLOSIVE THRILLER THAT CLEVERLY COMBINES ACTION AND RELIGION. The missions for the agents of the Black Office, a secret offshoot of the Vatican led by Cardinal Marchesi, are getting more and more dangerous. To ensure the protection of the investigator Sofia d'Agostino there is only one solution: find her a guardian angel. Mafia young gun Angelo Costanza gets the unenviable assignment. Cardinal Marchesi's cell is about to obtain a heretical document that could shake the foundations of the Catholic Church, but the mission turns into carnage. Sofia and Angelo find themselves face to face with a commando tied to an occult branch of the Vatican and the intrepid Sofia, Sister Anna and the bombastic Gina must start chasing the Parsifal relic. The angels must defuse the theological bomb before the Church's secrets explode into view. Mature. By: Jean-Luc Sala, Pierre-Mony Chan --
