is an ongoing DC comic book series published under its Vertigo imprint with the starting cover date of August 2008. It tells the story of one of DC Comics most enigmatic characters, originally known as Nimue Inwudu, lover to Merlin and sister to the legendary sorceresses Morgana and Viviane and whose personal history is closely intertwined with the mysterious Phantom Stranger. The stories that unfold each issue are presented in the manner of a gothic romance with elements of history, mythology and mysticism, as Madame Xanadu revisits famous legends and stories of different eras. This series has been nominated for 4 Eisner awards.
Master illustrator Michael Wm. Kaluta jumps onboard for a 5-issue story with the seductive sorceress he first brought to life 30 years ago. Kaluta joins series scribe Matt Wagner to weave a mystery that jumps between the Spanish Inquisition and 1940s New York City. Long-buried secrets come back to life as Madame Xanadu investigates a murder 500 years in the making. Featuring colors by Eisner Award-winner Dave Stewart. --
