Largo Winch Graphic Novels Vol. #1-4 (Ongoing)
    Eng | RS & Hotfile | 4 CBR | Dupuis/Cinebook LTD | June 25 2008 - Oct 25 2009 | 286 MB Total

is a Belgian comic book series by Philippe Francq and Jean Van Hamme, published by Dupuis. Largo Winch started as a series of novels by Jean Van Hamme in the late 1970's, but stopped due to a lack of success and the huge amount of work Van Hamme had in the meantime with his comic books (e.g. ). When Francq wanted to start a series with Van Hamme, he revived his old hero, and reworked the novels into the first albums of the comic series. Later, new stories followed. In the first two volumes of the series, (The Heir) and (The W Group), Largo, a young and handsome orphan, is propelled to the head of a business empire, Group W, after his adoptive father Nerio is murdered, and goes through a lot of troubles to preserve his inheritance and avenge Nerio. The following albums are more or less based on the same basic plot: someone is trying to harm Largo's company or to take control of it from him, and he has to fight that someone to ensure the survival of his holdings. All the stories of the series are published in two volumes, the first one being the one putting Largo in an impossible situation, and the second one letting him get out of it. In addition, both volumes share the same background color on the cover. The stories appear originally in French (among the most popular, in fact), and Cinebook has translated Largo Winch into English and has released them in single-issue books of 2 stories at a time. Graphic and explicit. Mature Readers. Cinebook Ltd is a British publishing company that publishes comic books and graphic novels. It describes itself as "the 9th art publisher," the 9th art being comics in continental Europe, especially France, Italy and Greece. They typically translate French books into English... Cinebook works with a team of translators, including native speakers of French, British English and American English. Upon opening the CBR you will immediately see a text file that serves as a foreword of sorts by the scanner, data9724. As he points out, Cinebook imposes a form of self-censorship on its translated publications, removing nudity therefrom; so he painstakingly scanned uncensored Belgian versions to come up with English translations with all the artwork intact. It is for this reason that I included the original publisher Dupuis with Cinebook in the news promote above. All credit goes to data9724. He even had the care and foresight to include the censored pages at the end of the CBR file so that one may tailor the book to his/her own tastes or requirements. Furthermore, as accurately pointed out by data9724, precisely because Cinebook is a small niche publisher and unlike the big boys such as Marvel and DC, earns just a small profit, I join the scanner in asking everyone that if these graphic novels are to your liking, and if you have the means, then please go out and buy them.
Largo Winch Vol. 1 - Cinebook: Jun 25 2008 | 102 Pages | 81.4 MB Largo Winczlav, born in Yugoslavia, is an orphan. Thousands of miles away, one of the richest men in the world will change Largo's destiny. This man, Nerio Winch, wants to find an heir to his empire and adopts Largo, offering him the best education. When his adoptive father disappears under dramatic circumstances, Largo inherits the W Group, the biggest conglomerate of multinational enterprises ever possessed and managed by a single man. From now on, he will be worth $10 billion. Which is not to everybody's taste, as he is about to find out. Largo Winch Vol. 2 - Cinebook: Nov 25 2008 | 103 Pages | 95.4 MB A veritable secret war for power takes place behind the scenes in big financial groups. One of the most common methods of attack is the takeover bid: A would-be buyer offers to acquire all available shares of a rival at a determined price in order to control it. The W Group is attacked by business conglomerate FENICO. As if this were not enough, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service also takes on Largo Winch. Will he lose his entire fortune? Largo Winch Vol. 3 - Cinebook: Mar 25 2009 | 104 Pages | 53.8 MB The jeans-wearing billionaire is down and out in Paris! In H, Largo is giving a cocktail party to launch his foundation for war orphans when a waiter brings out a colleague's severed head on a tray. He has been murdered by drug traffickers Largo is after. In a matter of hours, the billionaire's life is turned upside down. In Dutch Connection, two policemen are shot down as they arrest Largo, and he is charged with the murders. On top of that, he's accused of being part of the international heroin trade. Largo flees to Paris and ends up in the homeless community, with little hope of escaping the dire fate that awaits him: a lifetime jail sentence. Largo Winch Vol. 4 - Cinebook: Oct 25 2009 | 105 Pages | 55.4 MB Largo's best friend, Simon Ovronnaz, is being targeted by the secret services of Myanmar (formerly Burma). Simon and his girlfriend are wrongfully convicted of murder and imprisoned. After a very flawed trial, Simon is condemned to death and transferred to the infamous Fort Makiling. Blissfully ignorant of his friend's fate, Largo is enjoying a romantic adventure at the top of the world, while the plot against him deepens dangerously.
