(T'Challa) is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and penciller-co-plotter Jack Kirby, he first appeared in (July 1966). He is the first black superhero in mainstream American comics, debuting several years before such early African-American superheroes as the Falcon, Storm, Luke Cage, Blade, Tyroc, Black Lightning and John Stewart. At the series' start reactions were mixed, due mainly to series writer Christopher Priest's deliberately tangled narrative approach. Towards the series' end there was a dip in quality as the focus shifted. As a whole, however, and with the benefit of the passage of time, Black Panther Volume 3 came to be praised for its "wit, sharp characterization, narrative sophistication and explosive splash panels (courtesy of artist Mark Texeira)", transforming an under-used super-powered character into a complex cross-cultural superhero icon. One for the avid comics fan. Interestingly, most comic book catalogs, including Wikipedia's own article on the subject, as well as the original uploader, refer to this 62-issue series as "Volume 2." On the other hand, Marvel's comics database classification show that this is considered as Volume 3 already; Volume 2 being the 1988 four-issue miniseries written by Peter B. Gillis and penciled by Denys Cowan. Since there can be no higher authority than the source, I defer to Marvel's own library classification. The only thing is that I again forgot to rename the individual files to reflect such. The series is arbitrarily divided into 4 RAR archives of 16 issues each, with the last archive (issues #49-62) consisting of the last 14 issues.
