"Official Metropolis Edition"; Superman origin retold; Superboy reprint from issues 153 and 161 with Wally Wood inks. Includes a center-stapled 40 inch x 54 inch, full-color, Super-Sized illustrated map of Krypton suitable for framing. Also included: How to Draw Superman, Superman Family Portrait, How a Comic Magazine is Created (very interesting 10 page article with plenty of step-by-step pictures), info on Metropolis, Illinois and Superman Proclamation Day, the Superman Legend, Superman's Rogues' Gallery, The Secrets of Superman's Fortress, Important Dates in Superman's Life, Superman in the movies and on TV, and "Superman's Mission for President Kennedy."This is a scan made a couple of years ago (the individual jpegs are dated December 2008) of a somewhat hard-to-find one-shot special (a Very Fine copy sells at mycomicshop.com for $43 US) published by DC Comics in 1973. Even the various comics databases have no data as to the exact date of publication. Its cover bears the stamp "Official Metropolis Edition" and that's what its theme is, and it really has lots of extras. You get 66 pages and no ads, unlike today's "super giant specials." The pages were scanned to high-quality progressive jpeg images at 1200 dpi and that's okay if you want to print out the 4000 x 3006 pixel Map of Krypton that's included. The Contents and their details are too long here to list or reproduce so I'll just refer you to the and the (click).
