Autodesk Alias Products 2018.4 Update

New Features in this Update
- For the surface orientation tools (Unify Surface Orientation, Reverse Visual Surface Orientation, Reverse Surface UV), the Visual Normal is now set to the same direction as the Geometric Normal when the Geometric Normal flips. You can keep the Visual Normal direction unchanged by setting the When Geometric Normal Flips option in Preferences > General Preference > Modeling. (ALS-1821)
- In the Trim tool, you can now use the left, middle, and right mouse buttons directly on the surface to select Keep, Discard, and Divide, respectively, instead of using the interface buttons at the bottom right of the view. To use mouse buttons, select the Mouse Defines Action option in the Trim Control window. The default is to use the interface buttons. (ALS-2950)
- Show Preview option is added in the trim command to turn on or off the trim preview. (ALS-3517)

General
- Pivot does not display when multiple canvases are selected. (ALS-3081)
- Image plane becomes visible when the Attach or Insert tool is used. (ALS-1534)
- Center pivot does not work for canvases. (ALS-3015)
- Scaling with the Transform tool collapses objects with negative scale. (ALS-3147)
- In Refit Surfaces, repeatedly doing Undo All causes Alias to crash. (ALS-3109)
- Duplicate Layer(s) and Contents does not copy hidden objects. (ALS-3150)
- Layers folders do not expand to show selected layers when using Layers > Select > Layers by Picked Objects. (ALS-1888)
- Alias 2018 does not work on High Sierra Mac OS. (ALS-3110)
Modeling
- Multi-Surface Draft fails on chains of curves-on-surface. (ALS-3096)
- Undo in the Extend tool is not possible in Alias 2018. (ALS-2659)
- When picking a surface while creating a curve-on-surface, the pick list should ignore meshes. (ALS-3155)
- Unable to pick a curve by its hull when projecting. (ALS-3156)
- Alias cannot unstitch a group of stitched pieces. (ALS-2498)
- Light gray feedback color for Set Visual Surface Orientation and Set Geometric Surface Orientation does not provide enough contrast. (ALS-1786)
UI
- Windows layout changes after importing another file format and then importing a wire file. (ALS-3055)
- Pressing any key while on the splash screen causes Alias to crash. (ALS-3027)
- Dragging and dropping a file into Alias automatically opens the file instead of prompting to open or import it. (ALS-2969)
Data Transfer
- In CATIA V5 import, the Convert Cloud Data option does not work when the Convert Meshes option is not selected. (ALS-2877)
- The position of imported CATIA data is wrong for some data. (ALS-2998)
- CATPART surface translation has many more spans than the original. (ALS-2158)
- Surface degree changes in Alias to Catia to Alias workflow. (ALS-2970)

Remaining Issues in this Update

- Surface direction is not consistent when draft surfaces are created on a chain of edges. (ALS-2829)
- Workaround: Unify the UV orientation of the surface chains before creating draft surfaces.
- Fullscreen doesn't work correctly once one ortho view has been used. (ALS-3465)
- Workaround: Use view cube to switch the ortho view before executing the Fullscreen command.
