Andreas Speer writes of this new album: "A soft knock at the door. Who is it? Could it be? - Hopefully it is! - Hidden feelings, longings arise, a sense of who and what it could be, and then the door opens, and it's him - rather than crashing in he enters cautiously, and the reality is even sweeter and more beautiful than imagined."

"The soprano Ulrike Sonntag, who has recently made a guest appearance at the Vienna State Opera, has taken on the songs with noticeable dismay. A very beautiful, lively voice without pressure and effort. And Gisela Andreas is a perfect, multi-colored partner at the piano. (… ) The fact that the whole thing was recorded with a prototype spherical-surface microphone actually gives weight to technical brilliance: concert hall atmosphere sets in.

Andreas Spreer writes: "No. 21, the 21st recording of Evgeni Koroliov for the TACET label is available! What I particularly love in the playing of Koroliov: his ability to work out under a veil of objectivity, faithfulness to the text and modesty details of such sensibility and expressivity that make me believe listening for the first time to that piece of music. The 19 Intermezzi by Johannes Brahms offer plenty of opportunity for that." Russian pianist Evgeni Koroliov studied at the Moscow Conservatory, and since 1978 has been a teacher at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hamburg. He is mainly known for his performances of the keyboard repertoire of J.S. Bach, as well as the music of Haydn, Chopin, Debussy, Mozart, and Schumann.
