Home Invasion was Ice-T's first indie label album after being dropped from Sire/Warner Bros. Records following the Cop Killer controversy. It was a chance for Ice-T to be ruthless, which he always had been but now he could do it without the threat of a major label. While he would continue to make music sporadically, he has concentrated more on his acting over the years but remains one of the more influential west coast rappers.
