Kristian Krogsøe (b. 1982) was in 2007 at the age of 24 appointed cathedral organist at the Aarhus Cathedral. In 2022, he was appointed guest professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He studied with Prof. Ulrik Spang-Hanssen at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and in the soloist class at the ‘Universität der Künste’ in Berlin, as a pupil of Prof. Leo van Doeselaar and Erwin Wiersinga. He graduated with distinction in 2009. Since his debut at Berliner Dom, Kristian Krogsøe has performed concerts with a wide-ranging repertoire in Denmark as well as abroad.

Thomas Trondhjem was born in Denmark in 1954. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Århus under Poul La Cour, where, after attending the Academy’s soloist class, he took a diploma with distinction in 1983 and made a successful concert début in 1985 with excellent reviews. He has received many prestigious and highly esteemed awards and scholarships in Denmark including Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik’s Scholarship and the Jacob Gade Scholarship. He has performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Denmark and abroad and has played piano concertos by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann and Saint-Saëns as well as Rachmaninov’s first and second piano concertos. He often gives solo recitals: in this area Thomas Trondhjem’s repertoire is extremely large and comprehensive, embracing all stylistic periods, with special emphasis on the Viennese school, the Romantic period (Chopin, Liszt, Brahms) and music of the last century. He has given concerts in Scandinavia, Russia and most European countries.

Danish composer J.P.E. Hartmann was the leading romantic Danish composer who influenced generations of Danish composers, not least Niels W. Gade and the son Emil Hartmann. He was a prolific composer and composed in all genres. His extensive music for piano is sadly too little known outside Denmark, but with its romantic tone, melodic charmed and harmonies known from Schumann and Mendelssohn it will come as a pleasant surprise to all lovers of romantic piano music. Danish pianist Thomas Trondhjem is here presenting the third album of a complete recording of all the works for solo piano by J.P.E. Hartmann. Kim Sjøgren was the youngest ever concert master of The Royal Danish Orchestra with only 22 years of age. He recorded a few LP releases for Danacord before he moved to the major labels. Helge Rosvænge was the leading tenor not only in Germany but sang in many countries even into old age he performed at Carnegie Hall, New York. Helge Rosvænge, who was to become one of German operas most brilliant tenors of the last century, was actually born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on August 29, 1897. He passed away in Munich in 1972.
