Pushkar has never played the same melody twice. While playing he listens with the heart rather than looking at notes, resulting in a unique improvisation every time. He first discovered the qualities of his music while playing for his small son at night time. The baby would lighten up in a big smile while listening to Pushkar's guitar and flute playing. One night he turned on the tape recorder - the result later became the title track on his debut album "Inner Harvest". This became characteristic for his musical career. Pushkar's music is created from an intimate space. And it shares with the listener a rare feeling of innocence, beauty and love. Listen to his music with an open heart and feel enriched!

Genre: Chicago Blues, Electric Blues, Rhythm & Blues

Accurately dubbed "the Queen of Chicago blues" (and sometimes just the blues in general), Koko Taylor helped keep the tradition of big-voiced, brassy female blues belters alive, recasting the spirits of early legends like Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Big Mama Thornton, and Memphis Minnie for the modern age. Taylor's rough, raw vocals were perfect for the swaggering new electrified era of the blues, and her massive hit "Wang Dang Doodle" served notice that male dominance in the blues wasn't as exclusive as it seemed. After a productive initial stint on Chess, Taylor spent several decades on the prominent contemporary blues label Alligator, going on to win more W.C. Handy Awards than any other female performer in history, and establishing herself as far and away the greatest female blues singer of her time. Collection includes: Koko Taylor (1969); South Side Lady (1973); I Got What It Takes (1975); The Earthshaker (1978); From The Heart Of A Woman (1981); Queen of the Blues (1985); Jump For Joy (1990).

Along with music, the West Coast native is a trained fine artist and often draws inspiration from painting, sculpture, and nature for her compositions. Following her initial emergence in the late '90s, Hilton built a strong following, moving between atmospheric solo piano albums like 2007's After Dark, trio outings like 2013's Getaway, and ambitious small group dates like 2017's Escapism. She has continued to expand her approach, working with a bevy of top-tier players like Larry Grenadier, Christian McBride, Jeremy Pelt, J.D. Allen, Luques Curtis, and others.

Beneath The Veil (1997). Zingaia was coined by combining the word Zingari, a tribe of Greek gypsies, and the name of Gaia, the great mother Earth, which tells you a great deal about this music. One could call it goddess music because each seductively swaying song with its whispery singing and spoken word vocals evokes images of ancient goddesses. While recognizably a pawn of Enigma or Deep Forest and using stylistic elements of world music and ambient trance, this album has a distinctively original sound that is electronically modern and ancient tribal percussive at the same time. Its quality of direct-to-the-hear spirituality is not unlike Sacred Spirit Drums, and it's easy to recognize the influence of David and Steve Gordon as co-producers with Michael Breene, a member of the two-musician group…

4 Non Blondes howled their way onto the charts in 1993 with "What's Up?" and then vanished without a whisper. Formed in 1989 with Linda Perry (vocals), Shaunna Hall (guitar), Christa Hillhouse (bass), and Wanda Day (drums), 4 Non Blondes had no problems attracting major labels based on live shows and local radio support from KUSF, but the labels didn't know how to market them. After Day was replaced by Dawn Richardson, the group was eventually signed to Interscope Records and released Bigger, Better, Faster, More? in 1992. Although Hall contributed guitar tracks and some songs, she left before the album was released (replaced by Roger Rocha for the tour). Dominated by Perry's high-pitched singing, "What's Up?" was slowly added to modern rock stations and then crossed over into the mainstream, peaking at number 11 on the Billboard Top 200…
