Calling Gary Hoey a pretty colorful dog is certainly not an exaggeration. The American has already been on the road in all genres - heavy rock, prog and surf sound were there, besides film music, even rocking Christmas carols, and much more - the list could be continued for a long time. The fact is: Hoey is now considered one of the most accomplished and versatile guitarists in the world, and he has found his home in blues and blues rock.

Gary Hoey lived in Boston at a young age. It all started there when Ozzy Osbourne became aware of him in 1987. The 'Prince Of Darkness' was looking for a guitarist at the time. He got hold of a tape of Hoey and invited him to Los Angeles to audition. As you know, Zakk Wylde got the job in Osbourne's band, but nevertheless the course was set for Hoey to enter the music business. He moved to L.A. and formed the group Heavy Bones with drummer Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot. Hoey produced Lita Ford's (The Runaways) record "Living Like A Runaway", which was released in 2012, and the following year, with his last own album "Deja Blues", he turned to the genre whose fascination he brings to the point: "Blues has always been close to my heart and demands deep respect from me. Whenever I record a bluestitel, it becomes a breathtaking journey: once the energy flows, the record button remains pressed until it is stored." Gary Hoey has also kept it that way in the production of his current, twentieth longplayer "Dust & Bones", which he locates in the tradition of Robert Johnson, Johnny Winter, Robin Trower and also Led Zeppelin, and on which metal queen Lita Ford has returned his favor with a guest appearance ("Coming Home"). "I have arrived at home," he says, "this is where I belong." That's exactly what you hear on every track on "Dust & Bones".

"... on the one hand, blues-rock in the tradition of the former as in the opener ”Boxcar Blues”, on the other, rocking firecrackers and ballads." (Good Times)
