Description

This is a bundle of our Cultural Nuances course and our Diversity and Inclusion: Build the Foundation course. Taken together, these courses will prepare you to create a more inclusive workplace that allows your diverse and intercultural teams to do their best work. Our Cultural Nuances course helps you discover ways to improve how you:· Communicate with colleagues· Build trust at work· Make decisions on an intercultural team· Provide effective feedback· Work most effectively with your colleagues from different culturesUnderstanding how your own cultural background impacts your approach to workplace situations is critical for optimizing your performance and the performance of your intercultural team. Think of it this way: more and more, business is conducted on a global playing field where we have multiple options to connect with colleagues regardless of distance or geography, and many of us find ourselves doing so with greater frequency than ever before. And now, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve gotten even more accustomed to conducting work virtually, often with people who are geographically very far away from us—potentially in different countries or continents. Because of this, it’s likely you already work with people from different cultures—whether because those people moved from far-away places or because you’re connecting to them across the internet.By investing time to understand and adapt to cultural nuances, you’ll be better prepared to work with colleagues from cultures that are different from your own and build more effective working relationships. After taking Diversity and Inclusion: Build the Foundation, you’ll be ready to:· Explore privilege using the invisible knapsack analogy· Define equity and understand the structures that prevent and advance it· Reflect on social barriers that exist to create resources that address them· Identify the difference between the terminology race and ethnicity· Prevent the use of condescending or mocking language approaches in the workplace· Define implicit bias or unconscious bias· Understand and apply five bias reduction strategies derived from social psychology research· Define empathy and its impact on the workplaceRacial inequity is an important issue that has taken on a renewed prominence in many organizations, and addressing these issues can be difficult. Discover how your team and organization can build the foundation of a more equitable workplace! This online microlearning experience about cultivating racial equity in the workplace helps your team create psychological safety for conversations about building racial equity. It also will provide evidence-informed practices to help your team recover when mistakes happen and to create and sustain change within your teams. The videos in our foundational knowledge course invite learners to take a personal look at their lived experience and potential biases and provides strategies such as inclusive language and empathetic listening that can be applied to address racial equity-related issues in the workplace.
