Description
Welcome to this course that is all about design. Design in terms of becoming an Immersive Nature Educator. During this course, we will be choosing equipment and materials to provide high-quality education, care, and instruction for Immersive Nature Education Activities. We will be guided by pedagogies such as Nature-based, Place-based, and Inquiry-led.This course will guide you to lay out authentic learning experiences that will engage children and their families. It is intentionally designed to support you in creating Immersive Nature-based Programs. This course is definitely a great starting point for setting goals and laying out the foundations for Immersive Nature-based Activities. The goal of Immersive Nature Education is to spark children's imaginations, creativity, and curiosity about the natural world. It primarily wants to give children opportunities to explore and make discoveries in the place they are. Through these experiences, children are encouraged to assume some responsibility in caring for themselves and their environment.Specifically, Immersive Nature Education is focused on creating experiences that support skill development. Skills that will help them discover and provide them with basic natural science concepts upon which they can build an understanding of the natural world and the way it functions. The goal of this overall course is to support those involved in designing immersive nature experiences with knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes that will encourage creative teaching and deep inclusive lifelong learning. We hope this design will bring quality education for all interested in immersive nature education to the forefront.
